Five Cases of Achondroplasia

Abstract
|
|
|
This paper presented the five cases of achondroplasia, Which were found at St. Mary¢¥s Hospital. Two of them were prematurity and born from the mothers who had the episodes of polyhydroamnios,
Others were infant at age of 8 months, 2 years and 6 years old children.
Two cases of prematurity were expired within one hour after birth. Other 3cases were admitted
with stunted growth, short extremities, prominent forehead and flattening of the nasal bridge.
Intelligence were normal.
X-ray revealed typical findings of achondroplasia.
All laboratory data was within normal limit.
A brief review of the related literature was presented.
